Help:Edit summary

From Wikicpa

When editing an article, there is a small field labeled "Summary" under the main edit-box.

Filling in the summary field, that is, providing an edit summary, makes WikiCPA work better by quickly explaining to other users what your change was about. The text written here, up to 200 characters, will appear on the Recent changes page and in the page revision history.

Even if short, an edit summary should strive to answer the question, "Why did you make this edit?". Accurate summaries help people decide whether it is worthwhile for them to check a change. Summaries often attract the interest of other WikiCPA users with an expertise in the area. This is less important for "minor changes", but even "fixed spelling" or "typo" are useful. Text enclosed between /* and */ should be left alone, and your summary added afterwards.
